// west-mec coding program & fbla chapter
One home for news, community service, student showcases, and career readiness — built by and for a program that treats software like a craft.

4 lead: 'FBLA chapters that compete and win',
5 launch: 'careers before graduation',

We treat the coding program the way a strong engineering org treats its craft: clear ownership, real feedback, and work that ships.
Every student ships real software — from first HTML page to full-stack capstone — with code reviewed like it matters, because it does.
Community service is core curriculum, not extra credit. Students log, reflect on, and get recognized for real volunteer impact.
Officers run the chapter like a company: committees, goals, and accountability — practice for the teams they will join or start.

Our coding students are making exciting progress! Year 1 is building a strong foundation in website structure and will soon begin learning to make those websites look and feel polished with CSS. Meanwhile, Year 2 is moving behind the scenes to learn backend development with NodeJS—creating the systems that make websites and applications work.
